Why dogs need a vest
Every dog swims differently.
Some dogs paddle for hours. Others tire after a few minutes, panic in deep water, or struggle to climb back onto a dock or a boat. Short-nosed and deep-chested breeds, puppies, seniors and dogs who are new to water often need a little more help than they let on.

How it works
Three steps to the water
Measure and choose the size
Wrap a soft tape around the widest part of your dog's ribcage, just behind the front legs. Match that number to the size chart below — sizes run XXS through XL, from 11" to 38" ribcage girth.
Secure the vest
Lay the vest along your dog's back, fasten the quick-release buckles underneath, and pull the adjustable straps until the fit is snug but not tight — you should still fit two fingers under each strap. Attach or remove the front chin float depending on how confident a swimmer your dog is.
Get in the water
The vest adds buoyancy while your dog swims and gives you a padded handle to guide or lift them. Start in shallow, calm water and let them get used to the feel before anything deeper.
This is a flotation aid, not a substitute for supervision. It does not make a dog "unsinkable" and it cannot prevent drowning. Never leave your dog unattended around water, even while wearing the vest.

Between two sizes? Size up — the adjustable straps take up the slack, and a vest that's slightly large is far easier to fix than one that's too tight. The manufacturer publishes ribcage girth only; neck girth, back length and weight ranges are not provided, so we don't list them rather than guess.

What sizes are available?
Six: XXS, XS, S, M, L and XL. They're sized by ribcage girth, from 11" at the smallest to 38" at the largest.
How do I choose the correct size?
Measure around the widest part of your dog's ribcage, just behind the front legs, using a soft tape measure. Match that number to the size chart above. Don't size by breed or by weight — two dogs of the same weight can be shaped completely differently. If you land between two sizes, take the larger one and tighten the straps.
Is it suitable for puppies?
If the puppy's ribcage measures at least 11", the XXS will fit. Bear in mind puppies grow quickly, so check the measurement again before a big trip. Very young puppies and any dog new to water should start in shallow, calm water with you right beside them.
Will it fit a small / medium / large dog?
The XXS–XL range covers roughly 11" to 38" of ribcage girth, which spans most small, medium and large breeds. What matters is the measurement, not the label — take the tape to your dog and check.
Can my dog actually swim while wearing it?
Yes. The vest is designed to add buoyancy while your dog swims normally, not to hold them still. Most dogs need a few minutes to adjust to the feel of it — introduce it on dry land first, then in shallow water, before anything deep.
Can I use it in a pool? At the beach? On a boat?
All three. It's built for pools, lakes, rivers, the ocean and time on boats, paddleboards and kayaks. Rinse the vest with fresh water after chlorine or salt water so the fabric and buckles last longer.
Is it adjustable?
Yes — adjustable straps with quick-release buckles let you tune the fit to your dog's build, and get the vest off quickly when you're done.
What is the chin float for, and can I remove it?
The front float sits under the chin and gives gentle support to your dog's head and neck, which helps keep their nose above the water — especially useful for dogs who are new to swimming or who tire quickly. It's removable, so you can take it off once your dog is a confident swimmer.
How do I put it on?
Lay the vest along your dog's back with the handle centred on the spine, fasten the quick-release buckles underneath the belly and chest, then tighten the straps until you can just slide two fingers underneath. Check the fit again after the first swim — wet fabric settles.
How do I clean it?
Rinse with fresh water after every swim, especially after salt water or chlorine, and hang it to air-dry out of direct sun. Detailed washing instructions aren't published by the manufacturer, so we don't want to invent them — we'd advise against machine washing or tumble drying.
How long does shipping take, and what does it cost?

Is this a replacement for supervising my dog?
No — and we won't pretend otherwise. This is a flotation aid. It adds buoyancy and gives you a handle, but it cannot prevent drowning and it does not make a dog safe on their own. Always supervise your dog around water, and never leave them unattended while wearing it.
